Its not about the money, money, Manny!

Yesterday Manny Pacquiao loss via KO against Juan Miguel Marquez in their 4th match against each other. The whole day online news and comments came flooding in Facebook and Twitter. It is so surreal seeing our Pambansang Kamao unconscious. I didn't get the chance to watch the bout live but heard that he loss and last night as I was loading the video in YouTube I was nervous and maybe half afraid to see the punch that knocked out Manny.

But in the midst of all the comments flying all over the world wide web it was Manny himself who gave hope to the Filipino people. His character prevailed in the loss. We all know that this year Manny became a born-again christian, boldly sharing his faith and even led sermons. This loss became an opportunity for him to stand up to his new found faith and glorify God. And that was exactly what he did. You will see it in the video I shared from YouTube below.

Also in the video you will hear him say that 'it is only material'. He is trying to say that anything that we attain in this world is nothing in eternity. Manny got it right. Yes he got a guaranteed $25M++ but it was fame and glamor that he was talking about. He doesn't need money anymore. He fights on behalf of this countrymen and to glorify God.

As a christian I am so thankful that a national icon can be such an encouragement to the Filipinos and can give a good testimony on how God changed him. His faith in God became stronger because of this loss and I pray that the Filipinos will admire him as a man changed by God. Glory needs to be given back to our creator in using Manny Pacquiao as another tool. I hope that Manny will persevere in the Faith, stand strong in the midst of adversity and become a humble servant of God.

Last thing I want to share is that you don't need to be a famous or an influential person before you can be mightily used by God. Jesus called 12 ordinary men who became his disciples and became the world's foundation of the faith. They were nobodies used by God to share the good news. God can use the weak to shame the strong. We need to be faithful and humbly submit to the will of God almighty.
